DESCRIPTION

The woofer cone developed for the C508GTi is anodized aluminium. This material moves the first-modal cone-body breakup to a high frequency outside the operating band, significantly reducing distortion and maximizing midrange clarity.

An optimized nitrobutylene (NBR) low-loss surround material is used to damp cone breakup modes.

A 2" aluminium edge-wound voice coil is used. Using this ribbon-shaped aluminium wire allows us to precisely specify the number of windings in the magnetic gap optimizing motor force for high efficiency and low distortion.

The tweeter featured in the C508GTi MKII system uses a pure titanium dome suspended by a rubber surround to optimize output and reduce distortions that travel along the tweeter’s dome

The C508GTi MKII utilizes an outboard crossover with a 3500Hz fourth-order Linkwitz-Riley acoustic alignment. Air-core inductors are used to reduce magnetic saturation under high-power conditions and polypropylene capacitors ensure near ideal characteristics with low equivalent series resistance (ESR). The crossover also features impedance compensation and a tweeter protection circuit. Tweeter level may be adjusted for flat response +2dB or -2dB.

The C508GTi MKII midrange/woofer cone also features Plus One (patent pending) technology, which provides up to 30% more cone area than competing speakers of the same size. Speaker with Plus One deliver higher efficiency and more bass output.

The Tweeter in the C508GTi MKII component system features the I-Mount (patent no. 5,859,9170) tweeter-mounting system. This system facilitates easy and versatile tweeter installation (surface, flush, or flush angled).

What Hifi? Awards Zeppelin Air 5 Stars

The prestigious and influential What Hi-Fi? Sound & Vision magazine was one of the first titles to review Zeppelin Air and its reviewers were very impressed, awarding Zeppelin air five stars, and a glowing write up.

They were highly impressed by AirPlay, the Zeppelin’s Air’s set up procedure – which they described as “painless, and just takes a couple of minutes”.

But what they were most taken with was the sound quality Zeppelin air offers, whether through docking an iPod, or wired or wireless streaming. They described the bass as having impressive weight and depth, while vocals sounded “natural and full of emotion.” They concluded that Zeppelin Air was a “big step up” from the original Zeppelin, and a “must-hear for dock buyers”.
